In September 2020, ‘Jeromine’ orchard under integrated pest management located Scarnafigi (44°39′N, 7°33′E, north-western Italy), fruits (8.6%) showing brown blackish firm lesions (6.0 8.0 cm diameter) were observed. some fruits, rots covered yellowish stromata. Two isolates (MPI1, MPI2) obtained from two symptomatic apples cultured potato dextrose agar (PDA) 7 days at 25°C 12-h light/12-h dark regime. A white-to-greyish mycelium with slightly undulate margins irregular, black stromata developed PDA after 12 incubation. Conidia, observed branched monilioid chains, one-celled, globose, limoniform, hyaline, 38 58 (mean: 48) × 20 44 33) μm. Based morphology, tentatively identified as (G.C.M. Leeuwen) Kohn. polymerase chain reaction primers ITS1 ITS4 was performed internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions 1 5.8S gene. The sequenced amplicons (435 445 bp; GenBank accession nos. MW600854 MW600855) showed 100% identity reference isolate (HQ846944) other (AM937114, JX315717) plum (GU067539). ITS region had five nucleotides distinguish it closest species, (Zhu 2016; MH862738). pathogenicity both tested mature Jeromine (10.1% total soluble solids). Three replicates six per surface disinfected 1% NaClO. mycelial plug (5 mm) colony grown inserted using cork borer into hole (6 each fruit (Vasić 2016). Apples inoculated sterile plugs used control. Fruits placed 22 ± 1°C, 85% relative humidity, Lesion size measured 3, 6, 9 All typical symptoms 6 inoculation, appeared surface; control remained healthy. virulence statistically similar. reisolated all confirmed molecular methods. First Report of Sclerotium Rot on Cymbidium Orchids Caused by Sclerotium rolfsii in Korea
Sclerotium rot was found on Cymbidium orchids at Seosan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea, in July, 2010. Symptoms occurred on low leaves, which turned yellowish, after which the entire plant wilted. Severely infected plants were blighted and eventually died. White mycelial mats and sclerotia appeared on pseudobulbs. Based on the mycological characteristics and pathogenicity, the causal fungus was i...
متن کاملFirst Report of Root Rot Caused by Plectosphaerella cucumerina on Cabbage in China
Severe root rot was observed in fields of cabbages (Brassica oleracea L.) in 2015 in China. Cardinal symptoms of this disease included root rot and wilting leaves. A fungus was isolated from diseased tissues consistently. Based on the morphological features and molecular analysis of the ITS-5.8S rDNA and D1/D2 domain of the 28S rRNA gene, it was identified as Plectosphaerella cucumerina. This i...

strawberry (fragaria × ananassa duchesne) is produced on 3500 ha in iran. during surveys on strawberry root and crown rot disease (february-april 2007), a fungus resemble macrophomina was isolated from crowns and roots of collapsed and dying strawberry plants which were collected from golestan, mazandaran and kordestan provinces of iran. to study rate of growth and cultural characteristic of is...
متن کاملThe First Report of Postharvest Stem Rot of Kohlrabi Caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum in Korea
In March 2014, a kohlrabi stem rot sample was collected from the cold storage room of Daegwallyong Horticultural Cooperative, Korea. White and fuzzy mycelial growth was observed on the stem, symptomatic of stem rot disease. The pathogen was isolated from the infected stem and cultured on potato dextrose agar for further fungal morphological observation and to confirm its pathogenicity, accordin...
متن کاملFirst Report of Potato Stem-End Rot Caused by Fusarium oxysporum in Korea
In this study, we identified the causative agent of stem-end rot in potatoes that were grown in Gangwon alpine areas of Korea in 2013. The disease symptoms included appearance of slightly sunken circular lesion with corky rot on the potato surface at the stem-end portion. The fungal species isolated from the infected potatoes were grown on potato dextrose agar and produced white aerial mycelia ...
